Walnut Ogee Dish

Thin Walled Walnut Ogee Dish - fantastic figure and great contrast between the sap and heart wood and branch inclusions. Note that the cracks emanating from the centre of the branch inclusion have been filled with black cyanoacrylate glue (superglue). It was twice turned from green wood - rough turned and air dried for 4 months before being turned to the final form. This means that the lip is mildly out of true and the rim is not perfectly circular, adding to the charm of the piece. The dish is sealed in food safe hard wax oil mix for years of service. Sealing the piece will slow any further movement as it dries, so expect mild further movement over the next 12 months.
